Abstract
785,487. Liquid fuel burners. BREESE BURNERS, Inc. June 17, 1955 [July 20, 1954], No. 17635/55. Class 75(1) A liquid fuel pot burner has a cylindrical side wall 1 provided with circumferentially spaced primary air inlets 2, 3 at various distances from the pot bottom, a dome shaped bottom 7 positioned within the side wall 1 so as to define a narrow recess 9 fed with fuel from a duct 6 and extending around the pot adjacent the side wall 1, and secondary air inlets 4 and 5 adjacent the open top of the pot. The dome shaped member 7 is formed from a metal pressing and is welded to the side wall 1. The lower primary air inlets 2 are downwardly and inwardly inclined so as to project air on to the liquid fuel held in the recess 9 formed between the down-turned edges 8 of the dome 7 and the side wall 1. The air inlets 3 and 5 are directed radially and the inlets 4 are directed upwardly and inwardly towards the opening at the top of the pot. The fuel in the recess 9 is ignited by an electric or other suitable ignition mechanism 10.
