Abstract

1463206 Rotary liquid fuel burners DOWA CO Ltd 15 Nov 1974 [26 Nov 1973 26 Nov 1973 20 April 1974 (2) 11 April 1974] 49580/74 Heading F4T A liquid fuel burner which atomizes the fuel by rotary action comprises a rotatable member 5 lined with wire net 6, a ring member 8 which is attached to the member 5 to define a gap 7 between the members 5 and 8 and which extends into a recess in the base of the burner to define a gap 10, an air supply duct 14 and a fuel supply line 17. In use atomized fuel is initially ignited to heat the member 5 which thereafter acts to vaporize the fuel. In a further embodiment an annular chamber surrounds the recess with ports in its inside and top walls which connect the interior of the chamber with the recess and the main volume of the burner. The side wall 9 of the member 8 and the wall of the recess may be frusto-conical and the wall 9 may be formed by spaced wall portions. The gap 10 may be defined by the member 8 and a cantilevered cover of the recess which is provided with ports or formed by spaced wall portions.
