816,085. Atomizing burners. ESSO RESEARCH & ENGINEERING CO. April 1, 1957 [June 27, 1956], No. 10546/57. Class 75(1) [Also in Group XII] in a heating unit for a home heating service (see Group XII) the oil line 14 feeding the nozzle 18 of a high pressure oil burner 12 is arranged co-axially of the casing of the burner leaving a space 17 for the passage of air from a blower 16 to the combustion chamber. The casing of the burner is provided with an air director 20 with a central opening 21 arranged adjacent to the nozzle 18 and the casing is also provided with air-swirling helical vanes 19 to impart a swirling motion to the air from the blower.
