Abstract
721,126. Igniting burners. BROWN, BOVERI & CO., Ltd. Aug. 14, 1953 [Aug. 15, 1952], No. 22465/53. Class 75 (3) A gas burner especially for a gas turbine combustion chamber comprises a gas nozzle 3 for discharging gas through an annular outlet 4 radially outwardly into a swirling stream of combustion air supplied through an inlet 7 and a swirling element 6, and the resulting air/gas mixture is maintained in an ignitible condition by hot gases from a chamber 8 which surrounds the nozzle 3, and in which gas supplied through a pipe 9 and openings 10 is burnt in air entering through openings 11. An oil nozzle may be mounted coaxially with the gas nozzle 3 so that gas and/or oil may be burnt.
