Abstract

1454214 Liquid fuel burners GOTAVERKEN ANGTEKNIK AB 4 Nov 1974 [5 Nov 1973] 47575/74 Heading F4T A furnace for burning waste products is provided with an air supply box 12 fixed to an outside wall of the furnace and communicating with the inside via a plurality of ports, said box having at least one sleeve 13 extending from the back wall of the box to one part to define an annular passageway 15 and a tube 20 extending from near the front of the sleeve through the back wall of the box and adapted for connection of an oil burner 23, as shown in Fig. 2, or, without the oil burner, a member for closing the tube. The sleeve is provided with openings 16 with one controllable by members 17. Air can thus flow through the passageway 15 with a blasting effect which clears the port of accumulating debris and through openings 16 and thence through openings 22 in a conical end of the tube 20 or between the conical end and the sleeve. The openings 22 are formed to promote rotating movement of air to mix thoroughly with the oil mist jet from the burner 23 while the air from between the sleeve and the conical end surrounds the flame to make it stable. The sleeve or an end portion may be displaceable to vary the passageway 15.
