A scaffold unit comprises an upright a welded to which at right angles is a tube a2 having on its end an adjustable bracket c adapted to engage a hole in a wall. A further unit may be mounted on a spigot a<SP>1</SP> at the top of the upright a. Several units may be connected side by side by tubes engaged in clamps a<SP>5</SP>, a<SP>6</SP>.
