Abstract

612,976. Hair curlers. GOODWIN, P. J. June 12, 1946. 17618. [Class 131] A hair curler comprises an elongated body at least one end of which is hollow and is slotted to provide a group of teeth extending longitudinally of the body and entirely around its periphery. As shown in Fig. 1 the body 11 has ends 12, 13 terminating in groups 16, 17 of teeth 18, the end 13 and group 17 being of greater diameter than the end 12 and group 16 so that curls and waves of different sizes can be imparted to the hair. Facets 19 are provided at the central part of the body to facilitate manipulation. In use a tress of hair is divided out by drawing the teeth at one end of the device through the damped hair from the scalp outwards. When the outer end of the tress is reached the device is rotated to coil the hair on the teeth and the wound hair is then pinned in the usual way to dry the device being removed.
