Abstract

817,250. Hair curling appliances; CARONELLE Inc. Sept. 13, 1955 [Sept. 16, 1954], No. 26140/55. Class 131 A hair curler comprises a core member 10 on which a tress of hair is wound and a hair retaining member 12 longitudinally applied to the wound hair, at least one of the members being resiliently yieldable and the retaining member having parallel fingers 16 which are spaced to provide a gap 24 in which the root of the hair is clamped. The core is formed of plastic or rubber sponge and the retaining member of metal or plastic the fingers extending from a collar 22 which may be split to provide resilience. In a modification the core is tubular and additional clamping fingers extend inside the tube.
