Abstract
678,876. Hairdressing appliances. WALTER, P., WALTER, S., and WALTER, D. May 11, 1951. [June 19, 1950; Nov. 27, 1950] Nos. 15323/50 and 28990/50. Class 131. A hair curler comprises a resilient sleeve member, having a resilient tail member formed on one end, and a rigid core mounted in the sleeve so as to protrude from the end remote from the tail. As shown, the waisted sleeve member 1, of rubber or plastic material and provided with hair-gripping teeth 8 and finger grip portions 7, is of circular cross-section and is provided with a tapering bore 6 to receive the core '5 which protrudes from the sleeve to be engaged by an aperture 4 in the tail to retain a lock of hair wound on the sleeve. The core may be of brass, aluminium or of plastic material and is gripped by the tapering bore to prevent slipping of the core relatively to the sleeve. The first Provisional Specification states that the sleeve may be moulded round the core.
