Abstract
609,390. Hydraulic turbines. SMOLOVICH, M. March 12, 1946, No. 7774. [Class 110 (iii)] The velocity of discharge of a hydraulic turbine is varied, for the purpose of regulating the power output, by means of a conical diffusing body which is adjustable in relation to the discharge duct of the turbine. The discharge duct 3 is tubular and is telescopically adjustable axially towards and away from the cone 1. It is stated that the volume of flow remains constant. The diameter of the largest crosssection of the cone is greater than the diameter of the discharge duct. In a modified construction, the cone is movable, the discharge duct being fixed.
