Abstract

597,522. Gas burners. BOOL, E. D., and BRIDGE, J. F. April 5, 1945, No. 8462. [Class 75 (i)] A gas burner comprises an air supply tube 1 adjustable by a screw 12 in a, surrounding tube 5 connected at a flange 13 to a gas supply pipe. The conical inner surface 7 of the outlet of the tube 5 is inclined more steeply than the conical outer surface of the tube 1 and is flared outwardly at its end 10. The bore of the tube 1 is gradually reduced towards its outer end 3 to terminate in a short cylindrical portion. The screw 12 may have threaded portions of differing pitches engaging tapped holes in lugs 14, 15 on the tubes 5, 1. The air flow through the tube 1 may be induced by the gas jet or the tube 1 may be connected to a blower or compressor. Specification 199,060, [Class 75 (i)], is referred to.
