Abstract
621,070. Gas burners. MENZIES, D. Oct. 3, 1946, No. 29473. [Class 75(i)] A gas burner comprises a tubular metal nozzle adapted to be attached to a gas source, the nozzle having inlet and outlet portions 3A, 3B of substantially equal and small diameter bore, interspaced by an air inlet gap 7, a portion 6 of smaller bore which leads the gas from the part 3A to the gap 7 and directs it past the latter to the part 3B, which part is tapered downwards to its outer end from substantially circular to substantially semi-circular to form an outlet aperture 8 extending from the commencement of the taper along the upper side of the part 3B to the open semicircular end. The gap 7 is shaped so that the parts 3A, 3B are connected by a channel of semi-circular cross section, and the part 3A is tapered from approximately mid-way of its length. The nozzle is plugged into or made integral with a tube 1 which may be screw-threaded for connection with a gas source. Specified dimensions for the burner are described.
