Abstract
585,863. Supporting pipes and ducts. DALLOW, LAMBERT, & CO., Ltd., and BINGLEY, F. Dec. 27, 1944, No. 26067. [Class 52 (v)] [Also in Groups XXV and XXVIII] A support for a duct or pipe 3, Fig. 2, is formed by a strap 4, wound round said duct on the site whose ends are bent under to hold the buckle elements 7 which are joined and pulled together by a bolt 10 so as to grip the clip elements 5 holding the stays 6 which may be connected to the floor, wall or ceiling by further clip elements 5' attached to fixings 11. The buckle element Fig. 5, which may be standardized, is pressed from a flat blank and has two sloping side walls 7b, a base 7a, and a bridge portion 7c, containing the bolt hole 15 finishing above the base to form the slot 16 for the passage of the strap. The clip elements 5, Fig. 13, are made in pairs, one having the hole 18 a clearance hole and the other a tapped hole to serve as a nut for gripping the lug 6a of the stay 6. The attachment means, Fig. 19, has a plate 30, for receiving the clip elements, raised by a swivel pin 29 from the base plate 27 which may be attached to the building by screws or bolts through the holes 28.
