863,488. Bolting; clamps. BRUCE, H. H. June 20, 1957 [June 20, 1956; Aug. 2, 1956], Nos. 23818/56 and 19458/57. Classes 44 and 89(1). A support-device, e.g. for suspended-ceilings and wall-brackets, comprises a channel 1 with converging-flanges 4, a nut 2 with diverging-walls 5 engaging the flanges, and a screw 3. The channel is elongate, and may be cast in a floor c from which the ceiling is to be suspended, and the nut is locked.in any position along the channel by tightening the screw against the web of the channel, thus causing the flanges to grip the nut. An insulating-block x is secured by a nut y, and ceiling-panels are affixed to the lower-end of the screw. Conduits for cables and pipes may be interposed between the channel and the ceiling. The channels may support similar cross-wisechannels. Specification 861,385 is referred to.
