Abstract
236,751. Schul, M. Aug. 14, 1924. Screw propellers.-The propeller is formed with a ring boss which encircles the hull and which has an internal driving pinion, whilst the hull has a shallow supporting groove. The ring boss 2 has blades 3 and an internal pinion 6, and is formed by a number of segments. The power shaft 4 is fitted with a pinion 5 adapted to pass through an opening in the hull 1 to mesh with the internal pinion. The axis of the ring is approximately at the water level so that the propeller is semi-submerged. Two or more propellers may be fitted.
