Abstract
300,908. Filippi, A. P. Nov. 19, 1927, [Convention date]. Screw propellers; aerial propeller installations. -A hydro glider is provided with a number of screws for lifting the hull wholly or partly clear of the water. The hydro glider 1 is provided with a step 2 which promotes partial lifting of the hull as the speed is increased and in addition rotary screws 3 are placed beneath the hull and slightly inclined to the horizontal. These screws turn freely as the vessel is propelled by the ordinary screws. The driving propeller may be an immersed propeller or an aerial propeller, and the main engine may be used for starting the lifting screws.
