Abstract

220,389. Burn, L. May 17, 1923. Guards. - A simple linkage reducing-gear is supported in a casing which comprises an arrangement for conveying lubricant to supporting and thrust bearings, the whole being adapted for marine propulsion. The gearing is of the type comprising a disc 14 with crossed slots driven at half speed by a pair of cranks 12, 13 upon an eccentrically-supported shaft 10, as described in Specification 14931/14. A chamber 39 for the circualtion of cooling water may be provided. The casing comprises wings for transmitting thrust to the hull of a boat.
