417,730. Motor power plant. PARSONS MARINE STEAM TURBINE CO., Ltd., and COOK, S. S., Turbinia Works, Wallsend. on-Tyne. April 11, 1933, No. 10848. [Class 110 (iii).] In a reciprocator-turbine plant, in order that the turbine B, which is shown as L.P., but may be H.P., may be arranged alongside the reciprocator A, an idler gear-wheel 9 is provided between the gear 4 on the turbine shaft 2 and the double-reduction gearing 5, 7 connecting with the propeller shaft 8. The bearings of the idler-wheel may have damping means to take up cyclic variations in torque.
