Background: There is a lack of information about the burden of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in terms of morbidity and disability. Therefore, there is a need for agreed instruments that can provide this information. This study is a first phase validation study of the EMIC-AP and the WHOQOL-DIS instruments conducted in Papua, Indonesia. Leprosy and Lymphatic filariasis are common NTDs in Papua. The research question was: “How valid are the EMIC-AP and the WHOQOL-DIS of the NMD toolkit among people affected by the NTDs leprosy or lymphatic filariasis living in Papua, Indonesia?” Methodology/Principal Findings: Data were gathered using translated interviewadministrated versions of the questionnaires. The sample included participants with leprosy (n 1⁄4 16) and lymphatic filariasis (n 1⁄4 18) experiencing disabling consequences from their NTD. The study focused on item equivalence (relevance and acceptability), semantic equivalence (understanding and meaning) and operational equivalence (format of administration and questions, and suitability of response scales). Testing of the item equivalence showed that 94% thought the questions of WHOQOL-DIS were relevant and 90% felt comfortable with the topics. Concerning the EMIC-AP, 93% thought the questions relevant, and 90% felt comfortable. Semantic equivalence was more problematic with 51% and 23% having difficulties in understanding the WHOQOL-DIS and the EMIC-AP, respectively. Seventy-three percent was positive about the format of the EMIC-AP, while only 58% was positive about the WHOQOL-DIS format.

IntroductionThe mainstay of leprosy treatment is multidrug treatment (MDT), which contains rifampicin, dapsone and clofazimine. The occurrence of dapsone hypersensitivity syndrome (DHS), a sudden, potentially fatal and traumatic adverse reaction due to dapsone, may affect treatment adherence and may result in fatality if untreated. Before MDT administration, screening for HLA-B*13:01 in patients with leprosy can potentially reduce DHS risk. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of using a screening test for HLA-B*13:01 in reducing the incidence of DHS and to evaluate the feasibility of using the quantitative PCR-based screening tool as DHS predictors before dapsone administration using individual patient testing in a referral centralised-lab model. Methods and analysisA total of 310 newly diagnosed patients with leprosy will be recruited from health centres in two highly endemic districts in Indonesia. Dried blood will be taken on filter paper as the specimen receptacle to colle...

A critical question is " Was the theory which I developed really Grounded Theory (GT)?. GT aims to develop a new theory, it is perhaps one of the most abused phrases in qualitative study. Increasingly, researchers are making claims to have used a GT approach. This method is relatively little productive discussion in management literature. Grounded Theory of mode 2 knowledge-production system brings together the 'supply side' of knowledge, including universities, with the 'demand side', including business. The whole system depends for its effectiveness on a rapid interplay between management theory and practice. Mode 2 clearly focuses on management actions and describes the importance of involvement of participants and researcher through multidisciplinary approaches. This paper explains history of GT, principles of GT, data analysis, an example in building: Competitive Stakeholder Theory and finally working out complexity of GT " .

Ajib Rosidi wrote the poem I witnessed Humans “…..I said: This is our land; other people don't have to interfere! But I saw them take up arms and storm: Give us all the land, all ours! The victors raise the banner."

Media is currently rife highlighting Papua ranging from social, economic and political problems, as well as riots, conflicts are not infrequently common. The current welfare approach has not all answered. As it maybe said, Jakarta is dizzy, doesn't understand Papua. The former Governor of Papua, Barnabas Suebu described that people who live in Papua are like long train cars, some are very advanced or modern, like in a metropolitan city, but there are also people who still live very simply and depend on the generosity of nature. Geert Hofstede is one of the world's top management and business teachers from the Netherlands who teaches the importance of understanding the culture (National Culture), if we can't understand the existing values then there can be conflict and we cannot be competitive. Hofstede sees 5 (five) main dimensions and provide an assessment; Indonesia also has a score. Papua is one of the provinces in the eastern tip of Indonesia that is unique in culture and society. Quantitative Hofstede score research has never been done in Papua but I will look at it qualitatively only.

Cysticercosis is an infection in humans at the larval stage (cysticercus) of tapeworms  called Tania solium. The disease gives clinical symptoms namely neurological symptoms: seizures, increase intra-cranial pressure, headache. This disease can affect to muscle tissues and other soft tissues as well as eyes. Epidemiologically taeniasis cases are reported  in such as  Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Korea, Madagascar and Indonesia. Taeniasis in particular Indonesia spreads spottily in North Sumatera, Bali, Papua, East Nusa Tenggara, North Sulawesi, South East Sulawesi, West Kalimantan and Lampung. The disease has less publication and do not have much attention for communicable disease control program. In this short paper we learned this disease and documentations from Papua.

There is an assumption that Grounded Approach is difficult and could be only better employed by team of researchers or by a more experienced researcher who could dealt with the complexities and contradictions of this approach (Mehmetoglu and Altinay, 2004). Munir cited in Salim (2006) says Grounded Method needs the qualified researchers who have high flying hours, self confidence, creativeness and experience, and this is more likely not found in the young researcher. Since its analytical model is continuous as long as field data is being collected, Grounded Theory (GT) is not easy for the beginners. However, I feel, this issue is not all true, it actually can be improved if the researcher really involves in the field study, using modified approach such as Mode 2, correspondence with Grounded Researcher who have experience and last but not least perseverance and want to experiment.

Dibutuhkan pemikiran out of box.

Neglected Tropical Diseases cause not only physical and psychological issues but also economic issues in the form of health care cost for both patients and society. This burden is compounded by the existence of disability. Some Neglected Tropical Diseases are existent in Papua including leprosy, yaws, lymphatic  filariaisis  and cysticercosis / worm infection.  Neglected diseases are closely related to poverty, poor sanitation, access to health services, service public  ignorance, lower quality of life due to disability, stigma and discrimination a limited resources, including funds and scarcity of health workers who deal with these diseases.
Skin diseases and neglectedtropical  diseases have various appearances and are often mixed up. Leprosy often looks similar to other skin diseases (leprosy is a great imitator) therefore necessary skills, experiences  and knowledge  are needed for  the health  workers. With accustomed to seeing cases and pictures we will learn these diseases more easily.
This book was inspired by Leprosy in Africans by dr.W.K.Jacyk (ILEP Publication) and the book of Common Skin Diseases in Africa: An essay guide Illustrated by Collette van Hees and Ben Naafs. This book was adapted to the circumstances of cases in Papua.
Hopefully, this book will prove to be useful to our health staffs who work in the field, and students in medicine, nursing and public health.

This paper aims to briefly describe about all Neglected Tropical Diseases in Indonesia and Papua and its strategies and lesson learned to achieve the target. Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) cause not only physical and psychological issues but also economic issues in the form of health care cost for both patients and society. This burden is compounded by the existence of disability and stigma. Some Neglected Tropical Diseases are existent Indonesia including leprosy, yaws, lymphatic filariasis and cysticercoids / taeniasis, Soil Transmitted Helminthes (STH), Dengue, Rabies and Schistosomiasis. Papua and West Papua province suffered from all neglected diseases except schistosomiasis which only a specific disease in Central Sulawesi. Papua and West Papua are still free from Rabies. Neglected Tropical Diseases are closely related to poverty, poor sanitation, poor access to health services, ignorance, lower quality of life due to disability, stigma and discrimination a limited resources, including funds and scarcity of health workers who deal with these diseases. Local commitment including policy, budgeting, strengthening health system and community participation are keys for elimination of these diseases. The elimination of the diseases should be part of poverty reduction strategies. More studies needs to strengthen these efforts including surveillance. Active case finding is also paramount. Author added Tinia Imbrikata into NTDs. I. Backgrounds WHO mentioned facts about a vicious cycle of health and poverty (quoted in Salunke, Power Point presentation, 2010) as follows: Poverty caused Illness in economic perspectives  70% of infant mortality occurs in countries of low income residents 50% burden of infectious diseases in the poorest group  Poorest group experienced 20% mortality 3-4 times greater than the other groups, calculated by DALYs (Disability Adjusted Life Years)  Infectious diseases are responsible for 60% of DALYs Illness caused poverty in economic perspectives  Every year per capita income decreased 0.7% per year due to HIV / AIDS  Malaria causes loss of GNP by 20%  East Asian Studies show 50% of poor families financial crisis triggered by the fatal illness from tuberculosis, HIV and Malaria  Malnutrition, especially in the 0-3 year age causing brain growth and optimal physical not smart-not competent.  75% of TB patients in the reproductive age group, so that 20%-30% per year in

Uncertainty is real. This paper aims to describe  “Competitive Stakeholder Theory “ as a business strategy. “CSR (Triple Bottom Line philosophy)  and Stakeholder  Theory are competing theories  considered  as  strategic  management  to  achieve  objectives through value  maximizing. The  goal  of  Stakeholder  Theory  is  pro  all  stakeholders involved.    Every stakeholder  including  shareholder  shares  and creates  values together which are useful for themselves. Stakeholder  Theory  is  a  dynamic  process  that  contributed  by  Power  and Control  of Stakeholders  embedded  in ethics/philosophy;  Existing  Issues;  Cost Effective  Strategies;  Moral and Trust; PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act);  Recognition and Creating  Values. They are a continuous process  and have an interrelated relationship”.
Competitive Stakeholder  Theory would be applied at stable situation and  at  unstable  situation  such  as  uncertainty,  turbulence,  chaos, limited  resources, remote  areas, minimizing  risk and issues  of social responsibility.
Key words: Stakeholder theory, Uncertainty
