Values

Prostitution is a standard case of morality politics (MP), defined as a particular type of politics that engages issues closely related to religious and/or moral values, giving way to strong and uncompromising value conflicts in both societal and political spheres. This kind of issues have increasingly become a European policy matter due to their transnational nature and the tensions they create between different legal principles. Our hypothesis is that this leads to the emergence of a specific type of European morality politics (EMP) reflecting the particular constraints of the policy-making of the European Union (EU). The purpose of this article is to understand to which extent the rise of prostitution on the EU agenda alters usual patterns of MP to shape a distinctive type of EMP. Our findings suggest that prostitution characterizes EMP albeit with a significant difference, namely the challenge to regulatory inertia through the successful mobilisation of European values by some policy entrepreneurs to promote a neo-abolitionist approach.

The athleisure phenomenon has initiated a fast-paced evolution in the activewear industry and challenged brands to design and market activewear that fulfills consumer needs. Existing sport consumer behavior research has neglected to understand the structural relationships that connect attributes of sport products with values of sport consumers to inform values-based product design and marketing strategies. The current research utilizes the means-end chain theory and its corresponding soft laddering method to investigate the activewear consumption experience of female consumers. Findings revealed means-end chain structural relationships connecting five product attributes to three end-state values through four consequences associated with activewear consumption. Findings extend the sport management literature by understanding how sport product attributes fit into abstract consumer values and drive practical implications to enlighten activewear design and marketing.

In this article's scientific space, one can observe the differentiation of the definition of the terms "value", "value orientations" because it does not yet have a clear standard definition. Many researchers have dealt with this topic, researched, analyzed, observed, and made conclusions. However, there is still a rich scope for research of such phenomena of personal structure as value orientations. Outstanding psychologists-researchers who, in their scientific, practical, and theoretical works, dealt with the topic of values and value orientations and came to the general conclusion that values are a structural component of a personality, with the help of which a person achieves a goal, sets this goal, and characterizes position in life. The article saw the relationship between values and the basic structures of the personality, including value orientationsconsidered in values a system of orientation and personality attitudes.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the meaning, role and place of values in the life of a soldier. Furthermore, the article explores the issues of soldiers' ethical standards and types of behaviour which can be found in the modern army. It outlines that they are strongly influenced by the local culture. As a result of everyday performance, every individual makes assessments, i.e. formulates different opinions according to a specific criterion and assigns them a significant place in the hierarchy of values. In the light of this theory, the article examines the hierarchy of values and the norms of behaviour that occur in the lives of cadets. The paper uses The Rokeach Value Survey as well as The Kruskal-Wallis test by ranks. Using these two methods, the author analyses his own questionnaires to compare the value system of Polish Air Force University students. The main findings state that cadets have a permanent system of values. Moreover, they share similar judgments concerning different behaviour. Regardless of the course year, goals and values related to their homeland and family seem to be of the greatest importance. The overall findings of the paper show a great number of similarities in the cadets' value system. It is recommended that the future research should focus on examining students of other Polish military universities in order to check if they respond differently. The results obtained may be helpful in the process of young soldiers' upbringings taking into consideration the moral figure among military school graduates.

Studies showed that using influence tactics and polical behavior can be beneficial to employees because they affect human resource decisions such as performance evaluation and promotion decisions (Higgins et al., 2003). However, the type and frequency of the influence tactics employees engage in differ. Previous research has indicated employees' personality, motives, needs and career concerns as the employee-related antecedents of political behavior (Steensma, 2007; Zanzi et al., 1991). In the present study, we intended to examine the employee related antecedents of political behavior through invesigating the effects of personality, values and career concerns on the use of influence tactics. For that purpose, 294 full-time employees working in various firms were surveyed using the Big Five Inventory (John, Donahue, and Kentle, 1991), Portrait Values Questionnaire (Schwartz et al., 2001), Career Concerns Scale (adapted from Zanzi et al., 1991), and Political Tactics Questionnaire (Kipnis, Schmidt, and Wilkinson, 1980). The results of this study showed that, the internal career concern of skill development (learning new techniques, developing competencies, etc.) had stronger positive relations with the influence tactics of coalition and persuasion than the external career concerns (economic concerns), which had a weaker relationship with persuasion and an inverse relation with coalition building. With regard to the personality factors, the individuals who were low in conscientiousness and high in neuroticism were found to be the most engaged with various influence tactics at work. Finally, only the self-enhancement value dimension acted as a moderator between the personality dimension of conscientiousness and influence tactics, such that when this value was highly endorsed, the increase in the conscientiousness levels of individuals decreased their tendencies to engage in influence tactics. Moreover, an opposite relationship was found regarding the moderating effect of self-enhancement on the relationship between the two career concerns of skill development and autonomy on influence tactics. Hence, for those who endorsed self-enhancement at a high level, the presence of these career concerns increased the likelihood of engaging in influence tactics at work.
