III. PROCEDURE
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. Preliminaries
Good morning, class!
Good morning, sir

How are you today my dear students?

We are fine sir!

That’s good to hear class.

Well Ms. Secretary, who is absent today?
None, Sir!

I’m glad that all of you are present today class.

So, before we proceed to our lesson, may I
present to you our classroom rules;

-Respect and listen to your teacher.

-Raise your hand if you want to talk or go out.

Is it clear class? Yes, sir!

Kindly pass your assignment. (Students pass their assignments)

B. Review
Before we start our new lesson for today, let’s
have a quick review on our previous lesson.

What was our lesson last Monday class?

Ratio and proportion sir!
Very good!
How about last Tuesday? Anyone?
(Students raised their hands)
Yes Darlyn!

Properties of proportion sir!

That’s right!
And what was our lesson yesterday?
Proportionality theorem sir!
Excellent class!
Okay! I believe that you have already mastered
the concept of proportion and its properties as
well as the different proportionality theorems.

For you to understand well our past lessons we

will now proceed.
C. Lesson Proper
1.Presentation
Is everybody ready?
Yes, Sir!
2.Discussion
What is a proportion?
Proportion is the equality between two ratios
Very good! sir!
How about the principle of proportion?
The product of the means is equal to the
product of extremes sir!
Excellent!

Now what are the properties of proportion?

(Students raised their hands)
Yes Elijah!
1. Cross multiplication property
2. Alternation property
3. Inverse property
4. Addition property
5. Subtraction property
Very good!
Look at this given.
2:9 = 10:45
What are the means class
9 and 10 sir!
Very good! How about the extremes?
2 and 45 sir!
Excellent!

7/2 : 35/10 ⇒ 7(10) =2(35), what property of

proportion is applied in this example?
Cross multiplication property sir!
Very good!
6 15 6 2
How about this one, = ⇒ = anyone?
2 5 15 5
Alternation property sir!
That’s right!
3 3 4 4
How about this, = ⇒ = anyone?
4 4 3 3
Inverse property sir!
Yes sir!
Very good!
50 25 50+2 25+1
How about this, = ⇒ = anyone?
2 1 2 1

Addition property sir!

Excellent class!
12 6 12−8 6−4
And how about this, = ⇒ = anyone?
8 4 8 4 Subtraction property sir!

Very good class!

Now, who wants to try this?
(Students raised their hands)
Yes Denice!
𝑥 16
=
4 𝑥
⇒ x(x) = 4(16)
⇒ 𝑥 2 = 64
⇒ √𝑥 2 ) = √64
⇒ 𝑥 = ±8

Very good Denice!

Any question class?
None sir!
Are you sure?
Yes sir!
If that’s the case, answer these on a whole sheet
of paper.
D. Generalization
What did you learn from our lessons this week
class? (Students raised their hands)

Yes Elijah! I learn about proportion sir!

Very good!

What else? I learn about the principle of proportion sir!

Excellent!
What else? I learn about the different properties of
proportion sir!

Very good!
How did you find the unknown term of the given
proportion? By using the different properties of proportion
sir!

Excellent class!
And what is a basic proportionality theorem?
(students raise their hands)
Yes Andrei!
For any two equiangular triangles, the ratio of
any two corresponding sides is always the same
sir!
Any question about our lesson today class?
None sir!
If that’s the case get one whole sheet of paper
and answer your assessment.
E. Evaluation
