Introduction on the ambiguous signification of "hādhā lisānun ʿarabiyyun mubīn" (Q 16 : 103) in relation with the concept of "lingua sacra".
I. The Koran on its « prehistory ». 1 This « lectionary » is in Arabic commenting a non-Arabic « lectionary » ? a. First of all it is within a group of verses (101-3), which constitutes « a passage packed with self-referentiality ». b. Our second remark has to do with the expression « In plain/clear Arabic speech/tongue (bi-lisānin ʿarabiyyin mubīn)(Q 16 : 103 ; 26 : 195) which still needs more reflection, because the translation given here is - like most translations of the phrase - misleading from the point of view of morphology, and consequently of semantics. 2. What do fuṣṣilat and mufaṣṣal « really » mean ? a. Q 41 : 44 and fuṣsilat. b. ʿĀʾisha on al-mufaṣṣal and « the Prophet of the world’s end ». c. al-mufaṣṣal called « the Arabic » ! 3. Collections and interpretation in Arabic. II. Reading of Scriptures in the Christian Churches and their lectionaries. Conclusion. As seen the lectionary principle was a common practice in the Syriac churches. It is probable that Muhammad and his group have been influenced by such a practice.

on its Arabicity, on its explanatory character, its aspect as a book of pericopes (Perikopenbuch), its liturgical character, which did not “descend from Heaven”, but testifies that Muḥammad and his community

about Jewish-Christianity, Manicheism, gnosticism, etc., than is often accepted. They appear partly as interpreters of collections of logia, oral traditions, possibly taken up from liturgical lectionaries, directly or indirectly, and explained in Arabic during “liturgical assemblies”. As
we have seen above, the lectionary principle was a common practice in the Syriac churches. It is likely that Muḥammad and his group were influenced by such a practice.

Abstract. The Qur'an as a literary production of Late Antiquity, or: Muhammad as interpreter in the Meccan "Arabic lectionary" This paper deals with the "collections" of the Meccan Arabic lectionary (Syriac : qeryânâ) or Muhammad's exegetical activity in it. In several passages of the Meccan lectionary, Muhammad appears as interpreting passages or logia of previous Scriptures. The verb "to interpret" should be understood here in its double signification, i.e. "to translate" and "to explain". The practice of the targum existed before him among the Jews who explained in Aramaic (or translated into Aramaic) passages of the Hebrew Scriptures so that the believers could understand them. The same practice existed also in the Syriac Churches which had at their disposal the Diatessaron and several lection-aries containing chosen texts for the liturgy

The Koran being the “Great Code” of Islamic culture and civilization, the Koranic disciplines ('ulum al-Qur'an) and Koranic hermeneutics are considered in the,Islamic representation among the most important fields of knowledge. We shall deal here with the spectrum of “classical” Koranic exegesis from the II./VIII. to the XII./XIX. century according to a chronological point of view. After an introduction on exegesis and Koranic disciplines (A), we shall examine the principal stages and elements of the Koranic exegesis from the II./VIII. to the beginning of the IV./X. century (B); then the question of continuity and change of this exegesis from the second half of the IV./X. to the XII./XIX. century CE (C). At the end we shall deal with some peculiarities of this discipline (D). The question of the formative period per se and that of mystical exegesis have been dealt with by us more lengthy elsewhere.

II. Raisons théologiques et morales
III.

Introduction.
Conclusion L'exemple d'al-Ibšīhī (ob. post 850/1446) "L˒attrayant parmi tous les savoirs butinant"., cap.
