Oat is a species of cereal grain used mainly as a livestock feed and for human consumption. The biggest producers of oat are: European Union, Russia, Canada, Australia and United States. Oat Futures are available for trading in the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The standard contract has 5,000 bushels, the equivalent 86 metric tons.
