Claims (13)
- 다수의 셀로 구성되는 화상 표시면을 갖고,상기 화상 표시면에 있어서의 1화소분의 표시 구획은, 동일한 발색의 2이상의 M개의 셀을 포함하여 구성되고,상기 표시 구획에 있어서의 상기 동일한 발색의 M개의 셀에는, 비발광을 포함하여 적어도 (M+1)개의 발광량 제어를 가능하도록, 합계 M개의 서로 다른 면적의 어드레스 전극이 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 디바이스.
- 발색(發色)이 빨강인 R의 셀, 발색이 초록인 G의 셀, 및 발색이 파랑인 B의 셀로 구성되는 화상 표시면을 갖고,상기 화상 표시면에 있어서의 1화소분의 표시 구획이, R의 셀, G의 셀, 및 B의 셀을 적어도 1개씩 포함하고, 또한 적어도 2개의 셀의 발색이 동일한 4개 이상의 셀로 구성되며,상기 표시 구획에 있어서의 동일한 발색의 셀에는, 서로 다른 면적의 어드레스 전극이 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시 디바이스.
- 제 2항에 있어서,상기 표시 구획에 있어서의 동일한 발색의 2이상의 M개의 셀에는, 비발광을 포함하여 적어도 (M+1)개의 발광량 제어를 가능하도록 합계 M개의 서로 다른 면적의 어드레스 전극이 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시 디바이스.
- 발색이 빨간 형광체를 갖는 R 셀, 발색이 초록인 형광체를 갖는 G 셀, 및 발색이 파란 형광체를 갖는 B 셀로 구성되고, 또한 상기 셀을 발광시키기 위한 표시 전극과 상기 셀의 발광을 제어하기 위한 어드레스 전극이 배열된 화상 표시면을 갖고,상기 화상 표시면에 있어서의 1화소분의 표시 구획이, R 셀, G 셀, 및 B 셀을 적어도 1개씩 포함하며, 또한 적어도 2개의 셀의 발색이 동일한 4개 이상의 셀로 구성되며,상기 표시 구획에 있어서의 동일한 발색의 2이상의 M개의 셀에는, 비발광을 포함하여 적어도 (M+1)개의 발광량 제어를 가능하도록 합계 M개의 서로 다른 면적의 어드레스 전극이 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널.

- 발색이 빨간 형광체를 갖는 R 셀, 발색이 초록인 형광체를 갖는 G 셀, 및 발색이 파란 형광체를 갖는 B 셀로 구성되고, 또한 상기 셀을 발광시키기 위한 표시 전극과 상기 셀의 발광을 제어하기 위한 어드레스 전극이 배열된 화상 표시면을 갖고,상기 화상 표시면에 있어서의 1화소분의 표시 구획이, R 셀, G 셀, 및 B 셀을 2개씩 합친 합계 6개의 셀로 구성되고,상기 표시 구획에 있어서의 동일한 발색의 2개의 셀에 배치되는 합계 2개의 어드레스 전극의 면적이 서로 다른 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널.
- 나란히 배치된 복수의 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널을 구비하고,상기 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 각각이, 발색이 빨간 형광체를 갖는 R 셀, 발색이 초록인 형광체를 갖는 G 셀, 및 발색이 파란 형광체를 갖는 B 셀로 구성되는 화상 표시면을 갖고,상기 화상 표시면에 있어서의 1화소분의 표시 구획이, R 셀, G 셀, 및 B 셀을 적어도 1개씩 포함하며, 또한 적어도 2개의 셀의 발색이 동일한 4개 이상의 셀로 구성되며,상기 표시 구획에 있어서의 동일한 발색의 셀에는, 서로 다른 면적의 어드레스 전극이 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 기재된 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널에 의한 표시에 있어서,상기 표시 구획에 있어서의 동일한 발색의 셀에 배치된 어드레스 전극을 상기 화상 표시면의 외측에서 공통 접속하고, 그 공통 접속한 어드레스 전극에 가하는 전압을 전환함으로써, 상기 동일한 발색의 셀 중 발광시키는 셀의 수를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동 방법.
- 제9항에 기재된 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널에 의한 표시에 있어서,표시 대상의 프레임을 휘도의 가중치를 부여한 복수의 서브 프레임으로 분할하고, 서브 프레임마다 상기 표시 구획에 있어서의 동일한 발색의 2개의 셀에 대해서, 한쪽만의 발광, 양쪽의 발광, 및 양쪽의 비발광 중 어느 하나를 선택하는 3값 발광 제어에 의해 계조 표시를 행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동 방법.
- 제9항에 기재된 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널에 의한 표시에 있어서,표시 대상의 프레임을 2이상의 K개의 서브 프레임으로 분할하고, 또한 상기 K개의 서브 프레임의 각각에 휘도의 가중치로서 n(0≤n≤K-1)을 이용하여 나타내는 1×3n과 2×3n의 2개의 값을 붙이고,서브 프레임마다 상기 표시 구획에 있어서의 동일한 발색의 2개의 셀에 대해서, 한쪽만의 발광, 양쪽의 발광, 및 양쪽의 비발광 중 어느 하나를 선택하는 3값 발광 제어에 의해 계조 표시를 행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동 방법.
