Abstract

PURPOSE:To drive the matrix of recording electrode styluses selectively, by providing counter electrodes, which face to recording electrodes, on the insulating sleeve incorporating the magnetic roller which holds insulating magnetic toner particles. CONSTITUTION:Counter electrodes 8 which face to recording electrode styluses 2 are provided on insulating sleeve 5, and insulating magnetic toner particles are held on the magnetic roller (consisting of magnetic material 6, insulating sleeve 5, and counter electrodes 8). Signals of voltages opposite to each other are applied to recording electrode styluses 2 and counter electrodes; and only when the sum of voltages of both electrodes is a constant value, the magnetic toner is stuck onto the surface of recording material 4 to form a picture.
