Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation on the recording surface of an intermediate recording medium by forming the intermediate recording medium of a sheet-like dielectric and providing a recording electrode on one surface and a toner image forming part on the other surface. CONSTITUTION:A conductive roller 4 and a toner supply means holding an electrostatic chargeable toner 5 in a laminar state on the surface 4a thereof are provided. A sheet-like dielectric 6 as an intermediate recording medium to be transferred and driven in synchronization with the rolling of the roller 4 and a recording electrode 7 applied with an image signal voltage Vs are provided. The electrode 7 is placed to face the surface 4a of the roller 4 by way of the dielectric 6 and the toner layer on the surface 4a is attracted to the sheet surface 6a of the dielectric 6 by the electrode 7, whereby the toner image corresponding to the image signal is formed. Since in this way the plane of the dielectric 6 in contact with the electrode 7 is not flush to the surface to be formed with the toner image, the degradation of the recording surface of the dielectric 6 as an intermediate recording medium is prevented.
