Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve adhesion of a toner to the surface of a recording paper to obtain a directly recorded picture with a simple mechanism, by applying a bias voltage across a guide member of the recording paper and a sleeve to cause an electrostatic force to act upon the toner and irradiating the light to a recording region. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper 5 is supplied to a gap (d) between a sleeve 4 and a guide member 6. Meanwhile, the sleeve 4 and a permanent magnet 3 are rotated relatively to carry a magnetic toner 2, and the surface of the recording paper 5 is brought near the magnetic toner or brought into contact with the magnetic toner 2. A DC bias voltage is applied across the sleeve 4 and the guide member 6 under this state, and an optical signal 7 is irradiated from the reverse face of the guide member 6. When this optical signal 7 reaches the surface of the recording paper 5, a conductive pattern corresponding to the optical signal 7 is formed on the recording paper 5, and an electrostatic force is generated in the carried magnetic toner 2 to stick the magnetic toner 2 to the surface of the recording paper 5, thus forming a normal picture.
