Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep the distance between a recording material and a multistylus electrode constant, and to enhance durability of the material and the electrode, by providing a spacer consisting of an insulating film and an adhesive layer on the part of the recording face side of the electrostatic recording multistylus electrode except the discharge electrode. CONSTITUTION:The recording face side of a multistylus electrode 10 having a large number of discharge electrodes 2 buried in its insulating support 1 is surface ground, and an insulating film 3a, such as a 6 micrometer thick ''Mylar '' film (polyester film made of du'Pont Corp.) is bonded through an adhesive layer, about 3 micrometer thick, derived from chloropreneon on the part of all the longitudinal ground surface 9 excluding the electrodes 2 to form a spacer 3. This electrode 10 is brought into contact with a recording material 11 consisting of a mylar recording layer 4, a resistance layer 5, and a mylar base 6, thus permitting an image superior in resolution to be obtained, toner blocking to be prevented because of absence of roughness as seen in conventional recording materials 11, and a stable image to be formed by constancy of the distance between the electrode 10 and the recording material 11.
