いずれも2010年1月29日に出願された米国特許仮出願第61/299,836号および第61/299,834号に対する優先権の利益が主張されており、それぞれが参照により全体として本明細書中に組み込まれる。
本発明の理解をさらに容易にするため8つの作図が本明細書に添付されており、ここで、図1〜8はそれぞれ洗濯残渣等級0〜7の例を示している。
本明細書に記載の実施形態が対処する一つの問題は、水中ですぐに溶け、残留湿気に対して十分な耐性を示し、加工性のあるフィルムを提供することである。高分子量PVOHポリマーは、残留湿気耐性が比較的良好であるものの、水溶性が低く、熱成形が難しいが、これはPVOHポリマーの温度感度に起因する面がある。低分子量PVOHポリマーは、冷水溶解度が良好であるが、残留湿気に対する反応性が高くて商業環境または消費者環境では機能せず、熱成形が難しいが、これは液体またはゲルを充填した場合のpin holdingおよびそれに続く浸透に起因する面がある。本明細書に記載するのは、問題となる3つの点すべてを思いがけなく解決するPVOHポリマー系および関連するフィルムである。
本明細書に記載のフィルム形成組成物は、1つ以上のPVOHポリマーを含み、フィルムのPVOH樹脂分を構成する。本明細書の教示によって、1つまたは複数のPVOHポリマーを選択またはブレンドし、水溶液中で溶解可能なフィルムなどの物品を創作することができる。このような水溶性フィルムは、洗濯用洗剤組成物の中に見出されるような洗浄活性剤またはリンス添加剤を遅延放出するための密封パウチの創作に有用性を見出すことができる。
PVOH樹脂はPVOHポリマーの混合物を含むこともできる。例えば、PVOH樹脂は少なくとも2種類のPVOHポリマーを含み、本明細書においては、第1のPVOHポリマーの粘度が第2のPVOHポリマーの粘度より少なくてもよい。第1のPVOHポリマーの粘度が、最低でも約8cP、10cP、12cP、または13cP、かつ最高でも約40cP、20cP、15cP、または13cPであってよく、例えば、約8cP〜約40cP、または約10cP〜約20cP、または約10cP〜約15cP、または約12cP〜約14cPの範囲、または13cPであってもよい。また、第2のPVOHポリマーの粘度が、最低でも約10cP、20cP、または22cP、かつ最高でも約40cP、30cP、25cP、または24cPであってよく、例えば、約10cP〜約40cP、または20〜約30cP、または約20〜約25cP、または約22〜約24の範囲、または23cPであってもよい。
水溶性フィルムは、最低でも約50質量%、55質量%、60質量%、65質量%、70質量%、75質量%、80質量%、85質量%、90質量%のPVOH樹脂を含有することができる。
予定される実施形態の一クラスは、本明細書に記載の水溶性フィルムが本明細書に記載の水滴耐性試験(Water-Drop Resistance Test )および本明細書に記載の洗濯残渣試験(Wash-Residue Test)に合格することを特徴とし、好ましくは両方の試験に合格する。予定される実施形態の別のクラスは、本明細書の記載に従って製作される水溶性フィルムの熱成形性が良好であることを特徴とする。熱成形フィルムとは、熱および力の適用によって成形できるものを指す。好ましくは、該フィルムは水滴耐性試験および洗濯残渣試験に合格し、かつ熱成形することが可能である。
あるいは、厚さ76μmのPVOHフィルム0.6gを、約44×44mmの大きさの3つの区画(compartments)のパウチに熱成形し、第1の区画には17.5ml/18gの試験溶液を、第2および第3の区画には1.5ml/1.5gの試験溶液を充填する。次に、密封したパケットを黒いベルベットの袋(23.5cm×47cmの綿72%/黒ベルベット28%、好ましくは、DENHOLME VELVETS, Halifax Road, Denholme, West Yorkshire, Englandが製造し、EQUEST U.K.が提供するModalベルベット)に入れ、バッグの開け口の全長をプラスチック糸で縫い合わせて保護する。次に、密封されたベルベットの袋を洗濯機(好ましくは、MIELE洗濯機のW467型を水温制御装置に接続したもの)の底に配置する。機械間の変動を克服するため、好ましくは、各試験に機械を4台使用し、各機械に水溶性ポリマーの試料を4個ずつ、それぞれベルベットの袋に入れて保護したものを入れる。機械の中での袋の位置決めによる影響を排除するため、袋は各機械内のさまざまな相対位置で機械の底に並べて配置する。次に、バラストの洗濯物を追加せずに、始発水温が5℃±1℃(水温制御システムが制御)の「ウールサイクル/冷水」の設定で洗濯サイクルを予約する。洗濯サイクルの終了後、15分のうちに、袋を機械から除去し、開いて、採点しなければならない。
予定される一つのクラスの実施形態は、例えば、第1のPVOHポリマーと第2のポリマーとを混合し、一体共成形し、溶接することによって水溶性フィルムを形成することを特徴とする。このポリマーをまず混合すると、好ましくは結果として生じる混合剤を溶接することによって水溶性フィルムができる。ポリマーを溶接すると、例えば溶剤溶接または熱溶接によって水溶性フィルムを作ることができる。
本開示のパウチは、少なくとも1つの密封区画を含む。従って、パウチは単一の区画または複数の区画を含むことができる。複数の区画を含む実施形態では、それぞれの区画には、同一の組成物および/または異なる組成物が入っていてよい。また、組成物は液体、固体、およびその組み合わせ(例えば、液体に懸濁された固体)をはじめとする任意の適切な形態をとることができるが、これに限定はされない。一部の実施形態では、パウチには第1、第2、および第3の区画が含まれ、その一つ一つにそれぞれ異なる第1、第2、および第3の組成物が入っている。一部の実施形態では、該組成物は、欧州特許出願第09161692.0号(2009年6月2日に出願され、Proctor & Gamble社に譲渡)に記載される通り、実質的に異なっている。
フィルムには、通常は熱成形として知られる工程で熱を適用することができる。熱は、任意の適切な手段を用いて適用してよい。例えば、フィルムは、表面上に供給する前に、または表面上に載せてすぐに、加熱エレメントの下または熱気の中を通すことによって直接加熱してもよい。あるいは、表面を加熱するか、またはフィルム上に熱いアイテムを適用することによって、間接的に加熱してもよい。一部の実施態様では、フィルムは赤外線を用いて加熱する。フィルムは、約50〜約150℃、または約50〜約120℃、約60〜約130℃、約70〜約120℃、または約60〜90℃の温度まで加熱してよい。あるいは、フィルムは、任意の適切な方法で、例えば表面上にフィルムを供給する前かまたはフィルムを載せた直後に湿潤剤(水、フィルム組成物の溶液、フィルム組成物用の可塑剤、または以上のものの任意の組み合わせを含む)をフィルムにスプレーすることによって直接的に、または表面を湿潤化するかもしくは湿潤なアイテムをフィルムに適用することによって間接的に、湿潤化することができる。

c) 第2の成形機上で、任意で熱および真空を用いて第2のフィルムを変形させ、第2および任意で第3の成形区画を作製するステップ;
d) 第2および任意で第3の区画を充填するステップ;
e) 第3のフィルムを用いて、第2および任意で第3の区画を密封するステップ;
f) 密封された第2および任意で第3の区画を第1の区画の上に配置するステップ;
g) 第1、第2、および任意でだい3の区画を密封するステップ;および
h) フィルム(複数)を切断して多区画パウチを作製するステップ。
本発明のパウチは、さまざまな組成物を含むことができる。多区画パウチは、それぞれの区画に同じまたは異なる組成物を入れることができる。本開示のこの特徴は、相容れない成分同士(例えば、漂白剤と酵素)を含有する組成物を、互いから物理的に分離または区分して保持するために利用することができる。かかる区分が、係る成分の耐用年数を延長させ、および/または物理的な不安定性を低下させると考えられている。加えて、もしくはその代わりとして、かかる区分が、欧州特許出願第09161692.0号(2009年6月2日に出願され、Procter & Gamble社に譲渡される)に記載されたような美的な有益性を提供することもある。
洗剤組成物は、約1〜約80質量%の界面活性剤を含むことができる。界面活性剤は、第1の組成物の成分として特に好ましい。好ましくは、第1の組成物が、約5〜50質量%の界面活性剤を含む。第2および第3の組成物は、0.1〜99.9%のレベルの界面活性剤を含んでよい。
本組成物の溶媒系は、水だけを含有する溶媒系、または水を含む有機溶媒混合物であってよい。好ましい有機溶媒には、1,2−プロパンジオール、エタノール、グリセロール、ジプロピレングリコール、メチルプロパンジオール、およびその混合物がある。他の低級アルコール、モノエタノールアミンおよびトリエタノールアミンなどのC1−C4アルカノールアミンも使用することができる。溶媒系は、例えば本開示の無水固体の実施形態には存在しないことも可能であるが、約0.1%〜約98%、好ましくは少なくとも約1%〜約50%、より一般的には約5%〜約25%の範囲のレベルで存在する方が一般的である。
無機漂白剤および有機漂白剤が、本明細書に用いるのに適した洗浄活性剤である。無機漂白剤には、過ホウ酸塩、過炭酸塩、過リン酸塩、過硫酸塩、および、過ケイ酸塩などの過酸化水素塩が含まれる。無機の過酸化水素塩は、一般にアルカリ金属塩である。無機過酸化水素塩は、さらなる保護のない結晶質固体の形で含まれてよい。あるいは、該塩は、当技術分野で公知のように被覆されてもよい。
芳香族の食器洗い用洗剤に用いる好ましい界面活性剤は、単独または別の成分(例えば、石鹸水サプレッサー)と組み合わせて泡立ちが悪い。本明細書での使用に好ましいのは、低曇点および高曇点の非イオン性界面活性剤およびその混合物、例えば、非イオン性アルコキシ化界面活性剤(特に、C6−C18第一アルコールから誘導されるエトキシレート)、エトキシル化−プロポキシル化アルコール(例えば、Olin社のPOLY−TERGENT(登録商標)SLF18)、エポキシキャップ化ポリ(オキシアルキル化)アルコール(例えば、Olin社のPOLY−TERGENT(登録商標) SLFI18B:WO−A第94/22800号を参照されたい)、エーテルキャップ化ポリ(オキシアルキル化)アルコール界面活性剤、および、PLURONIC(登録商標)、REVERSED PLURONIC(登録商標)、およびTETRONIC(登録商標)(BASF−Wyandotte社、ミシガン州、Wyandotte)などのポリオキシエチレン−ポリオキシプロピレンブロックポリマー化合物など;両性界面活性剤、例えば、C12−C20アルキルアミン酸化物(本明細書での使用に好ましいアミン酸化物には、ラウリルジメチルアミン酸化物およびヘキサデシルジメチルアミン酸化物が含まれる)、およびMIRANOL(商標)C2Mなどのアルキル両性カルボン酸界面活性剤など;ならびに両性イオン性界面活性剤、例えばベタインおよびスルタイン;ならびにその混合物である。本明細書での使用に適した界面活性剤は、例えば、米国特許出願第3,929,678号、同第4,259,217号、欧州特許出願第0414549号、およびWO出願第93/08876号、およびWO出願第93/08874号に開示されている。界面活性剤は、洗剤組成物の約0.2〜約30質量%、さらに好ましくは約0.5〜約10質量%、最も好ましくは、約1〜約5質量%のレベルで存在することができる。
本明細書での使用に適したビルダーには、クエン酸塩、炭酸塩、ケイ酸塩、およびポリリン酸塩、例えばトリポリリン酸ナトリウムおよびトリポリリン酸ナトリウム六水和物、トリポリリン酸カリウム、ならびにナトリウムおよびカリウムの混合トリポリリン酸塩などの水溶性ビルダーがある。

そして、加水分解度が最低でも84%または85%、かつ最高でも約92%、90%、89%、88%、または87%、例えば、約84%〜約90%、または85%〜88%の範囲、または86.5%であり;
該樹脂はさらに、平均粘度が約11cP未満、多分散指数が約1.8〜2.3の範囲であるPVOHポリマーを、30質量%以下しか持たない。
第1のPVOHポリマーは、粘度が最低でも約8cP、10cP、12cP、または13cP、かつ最高でも約40cP、20cP、15cP、または13cP、例えば、約8cP〜約40cP、または約10cP〜約20cP、または約10cP〜20cP、または約10cP〜約15cP、または約12cP〜約14cPの範囲、または13cPであり;そして
第2のPVOHポリマーは、粘度が最低でも約10cP、20cP、または22cP、かつ最高でも約40cP、30cP、25cP、または24cP、例えば、約10cP〜約40cP、または20〜約30cP、または約20〜約25cP、または約22〜約24の範囲、または約23cPであり;

第1のPVOHポリマーの粘度は、第2のPVOHポリマーの粘度より低く;
該樹脂は、平均粘度が約11cP未満、かつ多分散指数が約1.8〜約2.3の範囲のPVOHポリマーを30質量%以下しか有さない。
該樹脂は、約50,000〜約300,000ドルトンの範囲の
約84%〜約92%、90%、または約85%〜約88%の範囲の加水分解度とを持ち;

第1のPVOHポリマーの粘度は、第2のポリマーの粘度より低い。
本発明の好ましい態様は、下記の通りである。

前記PVOH樹脂は、第1および第2のPVOHポリマーの混合材を含み、
前記第1のPVOHポリマーは、約8cP〜約40cPの範囲、好ましくは約10cP〜約20cPの範囲、さらに好ましくは約10cP〜約15cPの範囲の粘度を有し、 前記第2のPVOHポリマーは、約10cP〜約40cPの範囲、好ましくは約20cP〜約30cPの範囲、さらに好ましくは約20cP〜約25cPの範囲の粘度を有し、
ここで、第1のPVOHポリマーの粘度は、第2のPVOHポリマーの粘度より低く、そして
前記フィルムは、平均粘度が約11cP未満のPVOHポリマーを30質量%以下しか有さない、
水溶性フィルム。
〔2〕約1質量%〜約40質量%、好ましくは約15質量%〜約35質量%の可塑剤をさらに含む、上記態様のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
〔3〕前記可塑剤が、グリセリン、ソルビトール、プロピレングリコール、2−メチル1,3−プロパンジオール、およびその混合物から成る群より選択される材料を含む、前記〔2〕に記載の水溶性フィルム。
〔4〕少なくとも4質量%の残留湿分、好ましくは約4質量%〜約10質量%の範囲の残留湿分をさらに含む、上記態様のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
〔5〕さらに、最高でも60%、好ましくは最高でも45%の水滴耐性試験値を有する、上記態様のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
〔6〕さらに、最高でも4.5、好ましくは最高でも3.5の洗濯残渣試験値を有する、上記態様のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
〔7〕前記PVOH樹脂が、0.255〜0.315の範囲、好ましくは0.260〜0.310の範囲、さらに好ましくは0.265〜0.305の範囲の樹脂選択指数値を特徴とする、上記態様のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
〔8〕上記態様のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルムを含むパケット。
Claims (18)
- 少なくとも50質量%の水溶性ポリビニルアルコール(PVOH)樹脂を含む水溶性フィルムであって、
前記樹脂は、13.5cP〜20cPの範囲の平均粘度と、84%〜92%の範囲の加水分解度とを有し、
前記PVOH樹脂は、第1および第2のPVOHポリマーの混合材を含み、
前記第1のPVOHポリマーは、8cP〜40cPの範囲の粘度を有し、
前記第2のPVOHポリマーは、10cP〜40cPの範囲の粘度を有し、
ここで、第1のPVOHポリマーの粘度は、第2のPVOHポリマーの粘度より低く、そして
前記フィルムは、平均粘度が11cP未満のPVOHポリマーを30質量%以下しか有さない、
水溶性フィルム。 - 前記第1のPVOHポリマーが、10cP〜20cPの範囲の粘度を有する請求項1に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記第1のPVOHポリマーが、10cP〜15cPの範囲の粘度を有する請求項2に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記第2のPVOHポリマーが、20cP〜30cPの範囲の粘度を有する請求項1に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記第2のPVOHポリマーが、20cP〜25cPの範囲の粘度を有する請求項4に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 1質量%〜40質量%の可塑剤をさらに含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記可塑剤が、15質量%〜35質量%の量で含まれる、請求項6に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記可塑剤が、グリセリン、ソルビトール、プロピレングリコール、2−メチル1,3−プロパンジオール、およびその混合物から成る群より選択される材料を含む、請求項6又は7に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 少なくとも4質量%の残留湿分をさらに含む、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記残留湿分が、4質量%〜10質量%の範囲である、請求項9に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- さらに、最高でも60%の水滴耐性試験値を有する、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記水滴耐性試験値が、最高でも45%である、請求項11に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- さらに、最高でも4.5の洗濯残渣試験値を有する、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記洗濯残渣試験値が、最高でも3.5である、請求項13に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記PVOH樹脂が、0.255〜0.315の範囲の樹脂選択指数値を特徴とする、請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記PVOH樹脂が、0.260〜0.310の範囲の樹脂選択指数値を特徴とする、請求項15に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記PVOH樹脂が、0.265〜0.305の範囲の樹脂選択指数値を特徴とする、請求項16に記載の水溶性フィルム。
- 前記PVOH樹脂が、0.270〜0.300の範囲の樹脂選択指数値を特徴とする、請求項17に記載の水溶性フィルム。
