Description
上記燃焼室に露出する電極を有して上記燃焼室を構成する部材のうち少なくとも一つに複数設けられた放電装置と、
上記燃焼室を構成する部材のうち少なくとも一つに、燃焼室へ電磁波を放射できるように設けられたアンテナと、
上記燃焼室を構成する部材のうち少なくとも一つに設けられ、一端が上記アンテナに接続し、他端が絶縁体又は誘電体に覆われてシリンダブロック又はシリンダヘッドにおける燃焼室から離れた部位まで延びる電磁波伝送路と、
この電磁波伝送路に電磁波を供給する電磁波発生装置とを備え、
上記吸気バルブが吸気ポートを閉じ且つ排気バルブが排気ポートを閉じた圧縮行程に上記複数の放電装置の電極で放電させ、電磁波発生装置から電磁波伝送路を介して供給した電磁波をアンテナから放射するように構成している。

Claims (1)
- シリンダブロックに貫通して設けられたシリンダにピストンを往復自在に嵌め、上記シリンダブロックの反クランクケース側にガスケットを介してシリンダヘッドを組み付け、上記シリンダヘッドに開口する吸気ポートを吸気バルブで開閉し、上記シリンダヘッドに開口する排気ポートを排気バルブで開閉するようにし、これらの部材により燃焼室を構成した内燃機関に設けられる複数放電のプラズマ装置であって、
上記燃焼室に露出する電極を有して上記燃焼室を構成する部材のうち少なくとも一つに複数設けられた放電装置と、
上記放電装置に電気的に接続して電圧を印加する放電用電圧発生装置と、
上記燃焼室を構成する部材のうち少なくとも一つに、燃焼室へ電磁波を放射できるように設けられたアンテナと、
上記燃焼室を構成する部材のうち少なくとも一つに設けられ、一端が上記アンテナに接続し、他端が絶縁体又は誘電体に覆われてシリンダブロック又はシリンダヘッドにおける燃焼室から離れた部位まで延びる電磁波伝送路と、
この電磁波伝送路に電磁波を供給する電磁波発生装置とを備え、
上記アンテナに電磁波を供給したときに上記アンテナに生じる電磁波の電界強度が大になる部位の近傍に上記電極が位置づけられ、
上記吸気バルブが吸気ポートを閉じ且つ排気バルブが排気ポートを閉じた圧縮行程に上記複数の放電装置の電極で放電させてプラズマを形成し、このプラズマに対して電磁波発生装置から電磁波伝送路を介して供給した電磁波をアンテナから放射し、
上記放電装置の複数の電極を所定のスケジュールでもって順に放電させるように構成した複数放電のプラズマ装置。
