Description
本明細書における「光軸」は、伝搬光が複屈折されない方向を意味する。
「A−プレート」、「C−プレート」及び「O−プレート」はそれぞれ、光軸がプレートの平面内にあるプレート、プレート表面に対して垂直であるプレート、及びプレートの平面に対してチルトしているプレートである。
本発明の種々の要素に数字の符号が与えられた図面を以下に参照しながら、本発明を論じることにより、当業者が本発明を形成し利用するのを可能にする。いうまでもなく、具体的に示されない又は説明されない要素は、当業者によく知られた種々の形態を成すことができる。
Claims (7)
- ツイスト・ネマチック液晶セルの両側に補償フィルムが配置されており、
前記液晶セルの両側に配置される前記補償フィルムのそれぞれは、第1及び第2の正複屈折材料を含み、
前記第1及び前記第2の正複屈折材料の、(ne−no)dによって定義されるそれぞれのリターデーション値は波長550nmで100±20nmであり、
前記第1及び第2の正複屈折材料の光軸は、それぞれフィルム平面に対して垂直な第1及び第2の平面内で、平均チルト角10±5°でチルトされており、ここで、neは異常光線屈折率、noは常光線屈折率、dは、該複屈折材料の厚さであり、
前記第1平面と前記第2平面との間の角度が90±10°である、ディスプレイ。 - 前記補償フィルムの正複屈折材料が基体上に配置されている、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記基体と前記正複屈折材料との間に、整列層が配置されている、請求項2に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記第1及び第2の正複屈折材料の間に、整列層が配置されている、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記整列層が、機械的ラビングを用いて配向を可能にするのに適した成分を含有している、請求項3または4に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記光軸のチルト角が変化する、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記光軸のチルト角が一定である、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のディスプレイ。
