Description
前記フレームと前記フィルム材の前記第1の部分とは、粘着剤又は、前記フレームに接する面と前記フィルム材と接する面とに粘着層を備える粘着部材を介して連結され、
前記フィルム材の形状が帯状であり、前記フィルム材が前記フレームの開口部に沿って配置されることを特徴とする。
フィルム材の厚さが25μm未満であると、フィルム材に曲げ加工を施すことが困難になる。また、フィルム材が薄くなりすぎるため、その剛性が低下し、フレームへの貼付作業の作業性が悪化する。更に、フィルム材が光を透過しやすくなるため、光漏れを防止する効果が低下する。一方、フィルム材の厚さが100μmを超えると、フィルム材の材質によってはフィルム材の剛性が高くなり過ぎ、液晶パネルに与える負荷が大きくなってしまい、表示異常を引き起こす可能性がある。更にまた、フレームと液晶パネルとの間の隙間が局所的に小さくなった場合に、フィルム材が変形する余裕がなくなってしまい、液晶パネルに負荷を与えてしまう可能性がある。従って、フィルム材の厚さは25乃至100μmであることが好ましい。但し、フィルム材の厚さの好適範囲は液晶表示装置の内部構造によっても異なるため、フィルム材の厚さが25μm未満又は100μmよりも大きくてもよい場合もある。例えば、フィルム材の曲げ角度をフィルム材の先端部が液晶パネルに触れる最低限の角度に抑え、液晶パネルに与える負荷を低減することもできる。

Claims (8)
- 液晶パネルと、この液晶パネルの表示面の周辺部を覆い前記液晶パネルに接触しないように配置されたフレームと、その第1の部分が前記フレームに連結され前記第1の部分から離隔した第2の部分が前記液晶パネルの表示面又は角部に接触しその厚さが前記液晶パネルと前記フレームとの間の隙間よりも薄く、柔軟性を有する材料から形成され、遮光性を有するフィルム材と、を有し、
前記フレームと前記フィルム材の前記第1の部分とは、粘着剤又は、前記フレームに接する面と前記フィルム材と接する面とに粘着層を備える粘着部材を介して連結され、
前記フィルム材の形状が帯状であり、前記フィルム材が前記フレームの開口部に沿って配置されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記表示面に垂直な方向において、前記第1の部分が前記液晶パネルの表示面よりも前記フレームにおける前記液晶パネルの表示面の周辺部を覆う部分に近い位置に配置されており、前記フィルム材は、前記第2の部分が前記第1の部分よりも前記フレームにおける前記液晶パネルの表示面の周辺部を覆う部分から遠ざかるように曲げられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記表示面に垂直な方向において、前記第1の部分が前記液晶パネルの表示面よりも前記フレームにおける前記液晶パネルの表示面の周辺部を覆う部分から遠い位置に配置されており、前記フィルム材は、前記第2の部分が前記第1の部分よりも前記フレームにおける前記液晶パネルの表示面の周辺部を覆う部分へと近づくように配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記粘着部材は、その厚さが前記液晶パネルと前記フレームとの間の隙間よりも厚く、前記フレームにおける前記液晶パネルの表示面の周辺部を覆う部分を除く部分と前記フィルム材との間に介在することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記フィルム材の厚さが25乃至100μmであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記フィルム材が黒色又は灰色であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記フィルム材が前記フレームの開口部の各辺に沿って配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶パネルが面内スイッチング方式の液晶パネルであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
