Description
しかも、本願発明では、バイパス回路を構成しているサイリスタのターンオン状態を維持するために抵抗をパルス幅変調用スイッチング素子に並列に接続したことにより、ターンオンしたサイリスタがターンオン状態を維持するための維持電流が上記抵抗に流れるので、一度ターンオフになったサイリスタがターンオンになるための時間的ロスを防止することができ、また、その際の消費電力の損失も防ぐことができる。
Claims (4)
- 直列接続された複数の素子をパルス幅変調定電流駆動回路により定電流駆動する定電流駆動装置であって、
上記直列接続された複数の素子の各々に並列に接続されたサイリスタからなるバイパス回路と、
上記パルス幅変調定電流駆動回路のパルス幅変調用スイッチング素子に並列接続した抵抗とを備え、
上記バイパス回路には、並列に接続された素子の正常動作時にはサイリスタがオフ状態にあり、上記素子がオープン状態になった場合に上記サイリスタをターンオンさせるゲート電位を上記サイリスタに与えるゲート電位設定回路を設け、上記抵抗には、ターンオンしたサイリスタがターンオン状態を維持するための維持電流が流れることを特徴とする定電流駆動装置。 - 上記直列接続された複数の素子は発光ダイオードであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の定電流駆動装置。
- 表示パネルを背面側から照明するバックライト光源装置であって、
直列接続された複数の発光ダイオードと、
上記直列接続された複数の発光ダイオードの各々に並列に接続されたサイリスタからなるバイパス回路と、
上記パルス幅変調定電流駆動回路のパルス幅変調用スイッチング素子に並列接続した抵抗とを備え、
上記バイパス回路には、並列に接続された素子の正常動作時にはサイリスタがオフ状態にあり、上記素子がオープン状態になった場合に上記サイリスタをターンオンさせるゲート電位を上記サイリスタに与えるゲート電位設定回路を設け、上記抵抗には、ターンオンしたサイリスタがターンオン状態を維持するための維持電流が流れることを特徴とするバックライト光源装置。 - カラーフィルタを備えた透過型のカラー液晶表示パネルと、このカラー液晶表示パネルを背面側から照明するバックライト光源装置とからなるカラー液晶表示装置であって、
上記バックライト光源装置は、直列接続された複数の発光ダイオードと、上記直列接続された複数の発光ダイオードの各々に並列に接続されたサイリスタからなるバイパス回路と、上記パルス幅変調定電流駆動回路のパルス幅変調用スイッチング素子に並列接続した抵抗とを備え、上記バイパス回路には、並列に接続された素子の正常動作時にはサイリスタがオフ状態にあり、上記素子がオープン状態になった場合に上記サイリスタをターンオンさせるゲート電位を上記サイリスタに与えるゲート電位設定回路を設け、上記抵抗には、ターンオンしたサイリスタがターンオン状態を維持するための維持電流が流れることを特徴とするカラー液晶表示装置。
