Abstract
840,937. Washing granular materials. HARVENGT, E. Oct. 17, 1956 [Oct. 17, 1955], No. 31664/56. Class 82(2) Separation of two components is carried out in a heavy medium by gravity separation in a cone in which scraping blades are provided at least in the upper part of the cone and are arranged to generate movements of the contents having vertical movements, one or more nozzles being provided in the bottom part of the cone and being individually adjustable for producing further vertical or gyratory movements of the contents. The cone 1 has scraper blades 17 with paddles 26 to generate vertical components and nozzles 29. A partition 6 separates the floats from the raw input which is urged down the conduit 10 by a helical screw 8. Resilient rollers 30, 31 allow the sinks to discharge, alternatively a pocketed drum may be used.
