Abstract

814,960. Washing granular materials. PREPARATION INDUSTRIELLE DES COMBUSTIBLES. Oct. 11. 1955 [Nov. 10, 1954], No. 28967/55. Class 82(2) In sink and float apparatus a stationary receptacle (4, 10) is provided for receiving the dense liquid discharged from the separating vessel (1, 9), whilst a bucket wheel (5) operates in the receptacle so as to lift the dense liquid and discharge it into a recycling shoot (8) for gravity flow back to the separating vessel. The latter may be a perforated rotary drum 9 (Fig. 2), while the bucket wheel may rotate independently of the drum and have lateral blades. Several apparatus may be used in series, Fig. 3 showing three such with rotary wheels 12 in wash boxes 11. The dense liquid being recycled via 14, whilst discharging the final heavy fraction at 17 and the light fractions at a. In Figs.- 1 and 2 the light fractions 5 discharged on to screens 3 the heavy fraction being collected apparently in the vessels 1, 9. Specification 807,996 is referred to.
