Abstract

708,387. Rollers. VEREINIGTE KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN AKT.-GES. March 20, 1952 [April 13, 1951], No. 7248/52.. Class 120(2) [Also in Group XXXIV] The top rollers 6 of textile spinning machines are fast with a shaft 1 which rotates in bearings 5 in a bearing housing 2, the bearings being located in grooves 4 in the shaft. The rollers are recessed at 10 and are provided with flanges 8 co-operating with shoulders upon the bearing housing to leave a narrow annular gap 9. The outer race rings 3 of the bearings 5 are of cap-like formation with shoulders supporting the balls 5. The rollers have elastic coverings 7 and small radial holes 12 provide access for cleaning tools to the spaces 10. The gap 9 may be stepped as shown on the right-hand side of Fig. 1, and a flange 11 may be provided in the space 10. In a modification, Fig. 2, a flanged sleeve 14 made resilient by slots 13 is fitted into the ,recess 10, a stepped gap 16 being provided between the flange of the sleeve and a shoulder upon the housing 2 which is also provided with a hood 17 to additionally shield the bearing. In a further modification, Fig. 3, a flanged sleeve 19 is 'fitted into the housing 10 and co-operates with the housing 2 and a flange 22 of a sleeve 20 fitted upon the end of the housing 2. The sleeve 20 is provided with a further flange 24.
