Abstract
742,384. Bearings. S.K.F. KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GES., [formerly VEREINIGTE KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN AKT. - GES.]. Nov. 29, 1951 [Nov. 30, 1950], No. 28073/51. Class 12 (1). A pulley 12, Fig. 4, particularly for tape drives of textile spindles, is mounted on a shaft 3 which is supported by angular contact bearings in a housing 18. The spacing between the outer race rings 5, and the bearing clearances, are determined by choosing a spring spacer member 6, Fig. 2, of suitable width, the portions 10, 27, and 28 of the member 6 fitting into an internal groove within the housing. In a modification, the spacer member, Fig. 5, comprises inner and outer coil sections, the inner section 35 being thicker than the section 34. Various other forms of spacer members are also described and shown, one of which is of U-shape and passes through and has its ends bent around the bearing housing. Specification 410,027 which is referred to, describes and shows mountings for belt and rope pulleys.
