Abstract
730,924. Textile drafting rollers. CALZONE, F. May 5, 1953 [July 1, 1952], No. 12478/53. Addition to 695,057. Class 120(2). [Also in Group VIII] A roller for speed frames and spinning machines as described in the parent Specification has a fibrecontacting ring 9, mounted on a bush 10 carried by the outer bearing sleeve 8 and means for locating the bush 10 in axial position on the sleeve 8. In one form, the sleeve 8 is provided with a flange 17 against which an outer closing disc 12 abuts. An inner closing disc 12 is held in place by a flat steel washer formed with a projection 19 that passes through a hole in the sleeve 8 to fit in an annular groove 14 in the bush 10. In an alternative form, the closing discs 12 may be located by split rings, one of which has an end bent to pass through the sleeve 8 into the groove 14. The invention may also be employed in conjunction with the roller described in Specification 706,754.
