Abstract
819,692. Mounting bearings. RIETER & CIE A.G., J. J. Aug. 16, 1957 [Aug. 22, 1956], No. 25960/57. Class 12 (1). [Also in Group IX] A textile top cb ' awing-roller assembly comprises a roll-covering carrier 1 with a bore 3 for the reception of a bearing-unit 2 having an entry portion 13 of a diameter greater than that of the unit, an axle 6 to extend from the unit through the entry portion when the parts are assembled, and a split-spring-ring 10 carried on the axle and fitting it loosely when not tensioned, the radial clearance between the entry portion and the ring being at least equal to the radial clearance between the axle and the ring. The bore has an axial extension 8 of smaller bore to receive the head of a screw 7 on the bearing, an intermediate portion 4 of diameter slightly greater than that of the bore, and a frusto-conical recess 12. The axle 6 has a collar 14, and a sealing ring 5 of U-section. The split ring has at least three internal protuberances as shown in Fig. 2. In assembly, the member 2 enters the parts 13 and 4 without hindrance, being of smaller diameter. The ring 14 is also unobstructed at 13 and helps to centre the assembly and the bore. When the bearing 2 has almost reached its final position, the ring 10 snaps into the recess 12, and owing to the configuration of the latter presses the bearing home against an abutment 9.
