[Class 78 (i)] A conveyer belt c for heavy material such as coal which is supported by idlers, is provided with a self-contained loading section a which is fixed on to a normal conveying section a<SP>1</SP> and provided with rubber-covered idlers b, b<SP>1</SP> supported by brackets d, and with a plate g to prevent spillage. The lower edge g<SP>1</SP> of the plate is flexible so as to form a seal with the belt c. The edges of the belt are guided by plates attached to the brackets d.
