[Class 78 (i)] Spillage from the troughed upper run of the conveyer is prevented by inwardly inclined guards 1, Fig. 2, the width between the upper edges of which is less than the width of the belt 6. The guards 1 are supported by brackets 3 in side members 2 which are carried by standards 9. The covers 10 for the bottom belt and the base plates 4 for the top rollers also are mounted in the standards 9. In a modification the covers 10 are made in two parts which overlap at their edges at the centre of the conveyer.
