An endless conveyer comprises metal plates a, each of which is formed with a part b through which extends a rod c secured at its ends to chains d passing round sprockets e, the rearward edge of each plate being shaped to lie snugly over the part b of the succeeding plate. The chains are supported along their upper run by tracks g. The side edges of the plates may be turned up to prevent spillage ; alternatively, ribs may be provided on the chains or enlarged discs or washers secured on the ends of the rods c.
