Abstract

638,056. Conveyers. BURTON, H. H. June 23, 1948, No. 16813. [Class 78 (i)] In an endless belt conveyer system the combination with a face belt conveyer of auxiliary conveying means, so related to the face conveyer, and arranged and constructed to operate that it receives the material delivered from the lower strand of the face conveyer and operates to transport the' received material in substantially the same direction of flow as that of the material on the face conveyer. The lower runs of the face conveyers 1 have transverse ploughs 1a which discharge the material laterally onto the upper runs of the auxiliary conveyers 4 which discharge onto the transverse gate conveyer 3. Plates 6 below the lower runs of the conveyers 1 span the conveyers 1 and 4 to prevent spilling. The auxiliary conveyers may be driven in conjunction with or independently of the face conveyers.
