Abstract
598,829. Covers for cooking utensils. LEGGE, F P. Sept. 20, 1945, No. 24313. [Class 66] [Also in Group XXV] A hinged cover 11 for a frying-pan 1 or saucepan &c. is held on the vessel by flanges 6 and a tongue 7 depending from the hinge 12 and gripping the wall of the vessel, a bead on the tongue 7 entering a groove in the wall. The hinge is opposite to the handle 2 so that the pan does not tip up when the lid is opened. The lid is held closed by a hinged clip 23, the S-shaped hinge-pin 22 of which has its ends 25, 26 free for holding the clip in the closed and open positions respectively. In the open position, the clip 23 serves as a handle for the lid. An opening 30 allows vapours to escape, or provides for straining the contents.
