Abstract

542,661. Envelopes &c. BEASLEY, H. H., FRENCH, G. W., and BEASLEY, FRENCH & CO., Ltd. June 20, 1940, No. 10646. [Class 94 (ii) In the manufacture of envelopes &c. the envelopes are reversed during their travel from the base-closing stage to the flap-gumming stage, so that the portions c of the flaps to be gummed form a continuous surface for application of the gum. The envelopes after passing round a drum 1 are detached by a suction device 5 and transferred by a ribbon conveyer 9 to conveyer bands 21, 22, which carry them to the gumming apparatus. Specification 542,660, [Group III], is referred to.
