363,519. Feeding boxes from piles. UNIVERSELLE CIGARETTENMASCHINEN FABRIK J. C. MœLLER & CO., 48, Zwickauerstrasse, Dresden, Germany. Jan. 6, 1931, No. 489. Convention date, July 26, 1930. [Class 117.] Boxes a filled with cigarettes &c. are fed from a substantially horizontal pile by means of a friction device, such as an endless belt 7, which imparts the initial separating movement to the foremost box, which is then carried through a curved guide 16 by a projection 18 on an endless belt 14 and is deposited in a horizontal position on the feed table 17 of a machine for applying a sealing strip or performing some other operation. The pile is moved forward against the belt 7 by an endless conveyer belt 1, and a brush 27 carried by a pivoted arm 28 serves to retain the second box in position while the first is being detached.
