Abstract
721,757. Wrapping-machines. MOLINS, D. W., HARVEY, V. P., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Dec. 17, 1952 [Jan. 1, 1952], No. 43/52. Class 94 (1). A wrapping-machine forms a series of composite blanks from a web of liner material and separate outer wrappers, and folds the blanks about the contents, e.g. cigarettes, to form a block-ended packet. The wrappers 9 are fed singly by suction arms 20 against stops 35 on a roller 25 which co-operates with a roller 24 and glue sectors 26 to imprint creases 13 and glue lines 14-16 on each wrapper. Rollers 25 and 26A feed each wrapper to further rollers 29 which apply it to the web of liner material 6. The web with wrapper attached is fed across the path of pushers 3 propelling the contents 5 and is severed by a knife 30. The composite blank is forced through a folding box 31 by the contents 5 to form the filled packet. The machine can also handle blanks of the kind described in Specification 717,517.
