531,792. Weighing-apparatus. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T. Aug. 2, 1939, No. 22389. Convention date, Aug. 3, 1938. [Class 1431 In a hydraulic weighing scale of the kind wherein the load is transmitted by several hydraulic fluid columns through separate lever transmissions to a common compensator 26 connected to a scale beam, each fluid column is connected by one of the ducts 22 ... 25 to a sylphon bellows 34 one end of which is fixed and the other end of which is rigidly connected to a corresponding lever 37 coupled to a parallel lever 55, and each leverage system 37, 55 is provided with two separate means for adjusting its influence on the compensator. The levers 55 are rigidly connected to a rocker shaft 58, and the levers 37 are fulcrummed on blocks 43. A pull lever 63 on the rocker shaft is connected by a rod 68 to the steelyard 70 or to a dial. The fulcrum blocks 43 are adjustable by screws 46. A load placed on the platform unsymmetrically, causes the bellows 34 to exert various pressures on the levers 37 and these pressures are balanced in usual manner by.the steelyard 70. The correct influence of each fluid system is adjusted by placing a standard weight on a corresponding part of the platform and then adjusting the connection 50, 53, 54 bodily along the levers 37, 55, a fine adjustment being made by the screw 46 and fulcrum block 43.
