Abstract

262,672. Negretti, H. N., Negretti, P. E., Zambra, M,. W., and Ibbott, H. W. July 27, 1926. Elastic diaphragm pressure gauges; indicating means for.-Comprises two collapsable pressure boxes C, D composed of flexible diaphragms assembled together, each box being enclosed in a separate chamber A, B communicating with the source of pressure, a lever F fulcrummed on a spring strip G interconnecting the pressure boxes and connected to them by spring struts E, H, and means including a spring strut L for operativelv connecting one pressure box with an indicating hand. The spring strip L is connected directly to an overload lever 0 provided with a spring strip fulcrum V to which is also connected a lever M which is held up to a screwed stop W on the lever 0 by a spring X. The movement of the lever M is transmitted to a pointer through a rod N slotted at the upper end and a quadrant Q. The lever F is heavier on the right hand side to balance the weight of the levers 0, M and link N in addition to the weight of the left hand arm. A hair spring R eliminates backlash between the point U and the indicating pointer. A stop T prevents the quadrant coming out of mesh with its pinion, and stops Y, Z arrest movement of the diaphragm should the instrument be placed under suction.
