422,298. Weighing - apparatus. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T., and SANDERS, L., Soho Foundry, Birmingham. Nov. 1, 1933, No. 30284. [Class 143] An adjustable balance weight for steelyards or other weighing levers is supported freely in two mountings which are capable of adjustment one vertically and the other horizontally, thereby providing, within limits, an infinite variation of adjustment for the balance weight in a vertical plane. As shown, a loading box 5 of known construction is secured to one side of a steelyard 4 and is provided with a housing 6 containing two U-shaped stirrups 8, 10 adjustable horizontally and vertically respectively by means of screw bolts 7, 11. The limbs of the stirrups slidably embrace the balance weight 9 so that this may be adjusted in a vertical plane to any desired position within the limits of the housing.
